Wigry National Park is the kingdom of beavers. Not without reason, this animal is a symbol of one of the largest national parks in Poland, as beavers live here everywhere - along rivers and lakes, which make up nearly 20% of its area.
The pearl of the park is Lake Wigry with its numerous islands, bays, and winding shores. It is the largest, deepest, and most beautiful body of water among 42 other lakes in the park.
It is worth admiring its beauty from numerous viewpoints and by visiting the Camaldolese monastery complex in Wigry, which was also visited by Pope John Paul II during his pilgrimage.
